Our Story - Ping Asian Imports

As we all know, most of the worlds products are made in China. While many larger corporations have mass imported products for China and Asia, we at Ping Asian Imports seek to bring you what is unique and what is of value from Asia.

Ping Asian Imports began with our trips to China. Finding so many wonderful products in Asia that are not available here, we brought back some for ourselves, our friends and relatives. To our surprise, everyone was amazed at the value and quality of the kinds of things we found.
But where do you go in a country as large as China to find quality and unique products? And how to make them available to everyone else at a reasonable price.

Hence the idea of Ping Asian Imports was born!
 
On a recent trip, we found a little tea shop selling tea, and tea sets. The shop owner was glad to have us sit down and try as many teas as we would like. She sat at a small table, that had a wonderfully hand carved dragon. She talked to us about the history of tea in China, how certain teas should be brewed, and the best way to drink the tea. 

When looking at her "wall of tea, we were amazed by the selection and quality of the various teas. Tea in China, is similar to coffee in the US. There are tea shops all around, each offering their own special variety, and stories about how and where to get the best teas.

We tasted many teas, before deciding on the best ones to bring back to the US. After our friends and family tried them, they all agreed, it was the best tea they had ever tasted!

Tea is not just a drink, it is a celebration of life in China. And the preparation of tea is a serious matter. We brought back some tea cups and tea sets and were told they were wonderful for serving and drinking tea. 

Sometimes we found humors ways of selling products in China. Consider this picture of a shoe store. All the choices you want, and all you need to do is dig to the bottom of the pile to find them. Fortunately shopping on our website is a little easier than that.

Here can be seen one of the artist that produced one of the works of arts that we brought back. When asked about the price, he first offered to produce a painting for a "very low price". We then proceeded to bargain with him. After about 30 minutes of negotiations, we finally agreed on a price that was less than 1/2 of the original price. He then said that his painting would be worth much more than that, since he was a very famous artist!

China's streets are filled with shops everywhere. On any given day, everywhere we walked, was filled with shop after shop with bargains and quality products. Where possible, we choose what we thought were the best, and are now making those available to you.

Finally, after a long day, it was nice to sit back and enjoy the view from on top of a mountain.
